What is Web 3.0?

What is Web 3.0? I have no clue, but I am intrigued and already speculating, and imagining it to be this big monster that will dig deep into our souls! So let us delve into the abyss and learn whether we should fear or not to fear the unknown, or in this case the evolution of the internet.

First and foremost, just so you know, we are still in the world of Web 2.0. In simple terms, it lets us interact, comment, search, etc. So when you do a search or view something in particular on your phone, laptop, facebook, google, or whatever topic that you fancy researching about or just simply searching or viewing, this search activity is logged and the next time you open your search window again, or just simply browsing through facebook, instagram, etc., you will see that a lot of alternative choices on topics based on what you viewed, searched are shown, this means your viewing/search history algorithm tries to remember your activity and give you choices, options or alternatives! That is, my dear what is happening right now Web 2.0.

To the high tech people out there, you may or may not agree with the way I worded the explanation of 3.0, but this is my understanding as a layman, a bystander, so please pass on by.

I recently went to London for a social event and met this inspiring young man who is currently involved in all this technology integration relating to Web 3.0. He was quite insightful and very excited about the prospects of Web 3.0. Due to his passionate explanation of this process, he put my mind at rest that this is not the devil’s incarnation coming to get us folks, but a technology process that will actually keep our privacy much more secure and safe.

Each to their own opinion, we take it in or we leave it and say ‘bugger off’, and just get on with what we are doing in this mundane life, but any evolution is a step ahead into advancement, be it technology or just the state of mind. Whether we like it or not, changes will happen, changes are scary, but they will take place anyway in any part of our lives, we will somehow learn to adjust and adapt, that is who we are, the intelligent homosapien.

So, am I ready for Web 3.0??? Don’t know🤷‍♀️ I’m dumb and don’t care🥱….but do I 🤔? Well it remains to be seen. THE END.
